Reflexology

Reflexology is a science that has been in almost every culture around the world from Japan, China, Europe to America. The Native Americans used this technique to stop pain in inflamed areas of the body, lower fever and induce labor. Reflexology deals with reflexes that are in the feet and hands. These reflexes correspond to all the glands, organs and various parts of the body. A reflexologist uses their thumb and fingers on these reflex areas to cause an effect. You cannot see the effects of reflexology, but many people say they can feel the effect

Reflexology - can relieve stress and tension, it can improve circulation and blood supply and promotes the unblocking of nerve impulses and helps nature to balance.

Reflexology is not used to:

- Diagnose

- Prescribe

- Treat For any Specific Condition

Reflexology is not a new therapy or method of relaxation. In fact it was practiced as early as 2330 B.C. by the Egyptian culture. Reflexology as we know it today was first reseached by the late Mrs. Eunice Ingham, the pioneer in this field. Her book on the subject was published in 1938 and since 1942 Reflexology seminars have been conducted year round by her nephew, Dwight Byers. Mr. Byers conducts Reflexology seminars for certification in the Richmond area once a year. Also my mentor, Dr. Pat Lawson, holds certification classes in the Maryland area.

If you are looking for a good school to become a Certified Reflexologist, google: The International Institute of Reflexology for classes near you.

Reflexology is a safe form of treatment and, if and when necessary, it can be combined with orthodox medical treatment. It can also be combined with other forms of complimentary therapy such as Chiropractic, osteopathy, homeopathy, naturopathy, herbalism, and aromatherapy.

Introductory classes are offered at God's Garden and Pastor Deborah Febish is a Certified Reflexologist by the International Institute of Reflexology. If you are interested in a Reflexology session or class information, give us a call and set up an appointment. You will be glad you did!
